Xeomin

Botox and Dermal Fillers Specialist located in Bonita Springs, FL

What is Xeomin?

Xeomin is a drug for frown lines that consists of pure botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin that eases the movements of the muscles that it treats. On the surface, the reduced muscle movement means fewer wrinkles, fine lines, and folds. Although there are other drugs that work in the same way, Xeomin’s pure formula makes it unique. With Xeomin, you have a smaller chance of developing a tolerance to the drug when you use it repeatedly.

When you get Xeomin injections from Carrie at The Rolling Stone MedSpa, the treatment takes only 10-20 minutes. You don’t need anesthesia of any kind, but Carrie might give you a gentle numbing cream or place ice on your skin to make the injections a bit more comfortable. You’ll see the results within three to four days of your appointment.

What can Xeomin treat?

Xeomin was formulated with frown lines in mind. Frown lines are the wrinkles between your brows that get deeper with time the more you furrow your brows. Wrinkles like these belong in a category called dynamic wrinkles, which develop over time with muscle movements. Each time you make a facial expression, the lines appear. Over time, they become a permanent feature on your face.

Xeomin temporarily stops the muscle movements that lead to these lines and wrinkles. Carrie delivers the drug in small doses to make sure the drug only affects the intended muscles and doesn’t stop you from making facial expressions. That means you won’t look frozen or overdone, and you can enjoy your frown line-free appearance without setbacks.

How long do the results of Xeomin last?

Each time you get Xeomin injections, the results last for three to four months. You can get the most out of your treatment by following post-treatment instructions, like avoiding rubbing your face and keeping heat away from your facial skin.

Am I a good candidate for Xeomin?

Xeomin is a great treatment option for you if you’ve tried Botox or Dysport in the past and don’t get the same effect from them over time. However, you can also get Xeomin as a first-time wrinkle relief patient. During a consultation with Carrie, she can help you compare treatment options and review your medical history to make sure Xeomin is the best choice. You might be a candidate for Xeomin treatments if:

• You’re over 18
• You have moderate-to-severe frown lines
• You aren’t allergic to the ingredients
• Your skin is clear of any breakouts or rashes
• You have realistic, obtainable goals

If Xeomin isn’t a good fit, Carrie can help you review alternative treatments that might be a better fit for you.
